The Powerwall 3 is the solution some households opt for when seeking premium storage without the fuss. The solar inverter is built in, one less box on the wall, and Tesla's app is one of the most polished. At 13.5kWh it covers the evening peak for most Adelaide homes, and paired with the Tesla Gateway it'll carry your essentials (or your whole home, with the right set up by Twilight) straight through a blackout.

Backup & resilience
What “backup”
actually means
when the grid drops.
There are three levels of battery backup. We’ll be honest about what your wiring, your switchboard and your budget can support.
Level 1
Essential circuits only
Fridge, lights, internet, a couple of power points. The simplest, cheapest backup configuration, good for most homes.
Level 2
Whole home, soft start
The battery powers everything but won’t start big loads (air-con, oven) at the same time. Tesla Powerwall 3 with the right gateway, or a properly sized Sigenergy.
Level 3
Whole home, no compromises
Run everything, including ducted aircon. Requires a larger battery, a beefier gateway, and a switchboard that’s up to the job. We’ll tell you upfront if your home suits this.
An honest note: a battery won’t run your whole house on solar alone indefinitely. Even a 24kWh battery is one cloudy day from empty. Backup is about getting through the blackout in comfort, not surviving the apocalypse.

The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program runs from 1 July 2025. Rebate value depends on usable kWh, we calculate it for your specific system and deduct it from your quote.
If any SA-specific incentives apply (the SA Home Battery Scheme has wound down, we’ll tell you honestly if there’s anything left to claim), we’ll handle that paperwork too.

Process
Five steps. You sign once. We do the rest.
Free home assessment
Site visit, switchboard inspection, energy bill review, backup-circuit discussion. Usually 45 minutes on-site.
Custom quote
After the site visit, we lock in a fixed price: battery model, federal rebate already deducted, payment terms clearly set out. If we find anything unexpected (older switchboard, non-compliant wiring), we flag it before quoting.
Approvals & rebates
We handle the SAPN grid connection application and the rebate paperwork. You don’t lift a finger.
Install
One to two days on site. Done by our in-house SAA-accredited team. Switchboard tidy when we leave.
Switch on & monitor
System commissioned, app set up on your phone, blackout test run, walk-through of how to read your savings.
